Morning all,
I need to access/manage my pop accessible emails in Windows7, any good outlook/outlook express type free software anyone can recommend?
used O/OE for years so would be useful if it was backwards compatible with OE .pst files.
Cheers

Mozilla Thunderbird is free and open source. I use Opera to hand my emails though, so I'm not sure how good Thunderbird is.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
If you have Outlook from a previous PC it should run ok on Windows 7 (assuming it's like Vista) as long as it is from Office 2003 or later - the Office XP (2002) version will install, but has authentication issues, meaning you have to input your POP3 password each time you start it.
For free, I would say Thunderbird, otherwise go the MS way and use Live Mail locally.0 -
Not sure how good it is but there is a windows port for Evolution available. Go to http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/E-mail/E-mail-Clients/Evolution-for-Windows.shtml for a copy.
Evolution is a very popular Linux email client and has similar features to outlook.0 -
I have shifted all my mail to google apps. Then downloaded the google gears powered desktop application for google mail. Does the job, free, can import ALL you outlook history and search for old mails with the speed and flexibility of google as well as having rock solid offline backup.
Wouldn't go back.0 -
Windows Live Mail replaced Outlook Express.0

Thunderbird is excellent. You can add Lightning to it if you want a fully featured calendar as well. It's my problem, it's my problem
