Publisher problems

I previously put together a document using Publisher (can't remember which version it was) but my computer died and on my next computer I had to use a temporary (free 30 day) version of publisher to use it.

I subsequently acquired a later version of Office (2007).

I converted the document to the latest version, but for some reason after I receive free updates from Microsoft I can no longer open the document.

The only (temporary) solution I have found is to uninstall Office 2007 and then reinstall it which is becoming a real pain.

I am not techie - any advice or solutions gratefully accepted.

At a glance it sounds like you are using a dodgy copy of Office.
If that is the case then to get stable and full functionality you either need to get a genuine version, or use the Office 2010 beta.
  • Well as I've got a few sproglets I bought it from software for students. They are pukka aren't they?

    What is 2010 beta?

    Any other ideas anyone?

    Yes that should be fine.

It could be you have not activated Office, what happens if you click on Help >Activate Product?

You could also try doing a 'save as' to create a new file in case there is some sort of corruption in the original. A further take on this would be to 'select all' and 'copy' in your original file and paste it into a new file.
