Publisher problems

I previously put together a document using Publisher (can't remember which version it was) but my computer died and on my next computer I had to use a temporary (free 30 day) version of publisher to use it.
I subsequently acquired a later version of Office (2007).
I converted the document to the latest version, but for some reason after I receive free updates from Microsoft I can no longer open the document.
The only (temporary) solution I have found is to uninstall Office 2007 and then reinstall it which is becoming a real pain.
I am not techie - any advice or solutions gratefully accepted.

At a glance it sounds like you are using a dodgy copy of Office.I subsequently acquired a later version of Office (2007).

If that is the case then to get stable and full functionality you either need to get a genuine version, or use the Office 2010 beta.0 -
Well as I've got a few sproglets I bought it from software for students. They are pukka aren't they?
What is 2010 beta?
Any other ideas anyone?0 -

Yes that should be fine.
It could be you have not activated Office, what happens if you click on Help >Activate Product?
You could also try doing a 'save as' to create a new file in case there is some sort of corruption in the original. A further take on this would be to 'select all' and 'copy' in your original file and paste it into a new file.0
