Question on a refund to debit card that has been changed

Hi there, I made a purchase back in Oct on my hsbc maestro debit card. It has taken me nearly 2 months to get the company to pick up the items and refund my money. In the meantime, my bank changed our maestro debit cards to visa debit just last week.

Obviously they will want to refund the amount to the original card. What will happen if the card isn't active anymore but just attached to my current account. Will I need to call the company and see if they can refund another way?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would contact your bank asap, that way there can be some leeway in accepting payment. How long ago was the card changed over?

Depends on HSBC. The money would certainly return to them and may then require them to manually process the payment so it arrives at your account.

Double check with HSBC and see what they do.

I had similar situation with first direct and refund went through fine on my previous card.
