Kitchen extractor fan fitting

Hi I have recently done my kitchen except putting the wall units and extractor fan up as it is getting delivered tomorrow. How does it fit on the wall? Do you just screw through the back of it into the wall and then place the flue bit on the top? how does the flu bit stay on the wall? it is a charcoal one so no need for it to go outside. Also Do you have to cut the flu down or just put it the right distance from the ceiling so it fits perfect if you get what i mean.

Thanks alot!

The extractor normally comes with a paper template that you stick to the wall with masking tape, mark the holes to drill for fixing. Once you have put the screws into the wall with the appropriate fixing, there will be holes in the back of the extractor that correspond with the screws in the wall. The holes in the back of the extractor are usually like upside down keyholes. Once you have set it in place, you can normally access the screws from inside by removing the filters. The chimney is normally telescopic so will adjust to the height of the ceiling. Again they often have the same upside down key hole appertures to secure it to the wall.

You'll need to talk to your sparks again (like the shower we spoke about the other night). Electrics in kitchens is Part P again - just like bathrooms.
