If your trying to be more organised with ur money, on the otha thread, theres a budget planner, linked into post 2, page 1, you need 2 copies, 1 for the start of the month- where should the money go, then the 2nd - end of the month- thats where the money actually went:eek: or:D depending how gd u are at budgets!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Well i set up my ebay account a few days ago...now i just have to wait for my paypal account to link to my bank account!
Never realised how badly laid out the set up screens are for ebay! to read about fees i had to go to a link and then to another and then set up paypal and then another link to read about that...it should just say

3...fees are x amount.
i didnt understand the breakdown of ebay/paypal fees but im gonna add money and see what happens...when it eventaully links grrr:mad:
lol So while im ranting...if i list something...do i pay fees as soon as i list them? or when the auction is over? and with the final fees etc does that come out straight away or once the buyer has paid so it comes out of their money?
Im just trying to work out how much i need to start with as i gather its spending money to make money on ebay x

Phia - you don't have to put any money in!
1.The ebay fees are billed but you can choose to make one off payments after you've listed stuff or you can arrange to have the fees taken directly from your paypal account automatically as and when required (which is linked to your bank account so you don't actually have to do anything after it's set up).
2.The paypal fees are taken off at the time money goes into your account from sales.
3.If nothing sells you will be charged for listing them (as in No 1) but you can then re-list them for free by just clicking re-list on the item (no faffing required). If it doesn't sell the second time you have to pay fees again but if it does sell, you don't!

With the ebay fees, there a nightmare, basically they get 2 chunks of the money
1st - from listing fee - based on start price
2nd FVF final value fee - memory serves me right is about 5%
What ebay do is run the account monthly then on your account on the writing down the right hand of the screen - it says SELLER ACCOUNT this is where you access the invoice.
It can either be paid by paypal, or send a chq, on the invoice they have everything accounted for .
Then if you sell and they buyer pays via Paypal they have their cut, this is taken off before you get the money, so say I was selling dd's bikini - sold for £1.50 + £1.50 postage - £3.00 joe bloggs pays via paypal, he pays paypal £3.00, I get about £2.70 of that.

Am I right that you don't pay ebay fees on postal charges? Or have they changed it?
I used to see lots of sellers with items for 99p and charge £20.00 p&p for something small (for example a pen) to avoid paying so many ebay charges, but I don't seem to see it much lately (or maybe it's because i've stopped spending so much money on there!!!)

Think this is why they have introduced the free postage thingy ... there was a lot of people putting the postage price to the price they wanted for the item... your right though haven't seen that in a little while.....
Anyways, another item sold for £5.50 so thats another little addition... think i'll have a look around and see whatt else I can sell...
how is everyone else getting on??
