Hi
I purchased a TV signal booster from Maplin and had to wait a few days for it to be delivered because it was out of stock.
When it arrived today, I noticed that the product looked completely different to the picture they displayed on their website and it's specifications are slightly different than advertised.
Upon further inspection of the packaging, I noticed there was a sticker on the boosters box with a product code, which looked vaguely familiar. I then remembered the little stickers you get on any product you buy from Argos, with the product code on it. I typed the number on the box into Argos website and unsurprisingly the TV signal booster was listed and absolutely identical to the product Maplin delivered.
Clearly Maplin have purchased this product from Argos, and sold it to me at a higher price and they definitely did not notify me that I may receive a substituted product.
What can I do in this situation? I shredded the delivery note from Maplin but surely I am still entitled to a full refund?

Maplins returns policy is here
6.3 Unwanted Goods under Distance Selling Regulations – The Distance Selling Regulations give the Customer the right to change their mind and to cancel an order within 7 working days. Reasonable care should be taken whilst the goods remain in their possession and goods must
be adequately packaged when being returned back to Maplin. Customers whose transactions are covered by the Distance Selling Regulations, the 7 day cooling off period is inclusive within the 28 day returns policy.
If you don't have the delivery note maybe they will accept the order confirmation email?
I'd call them and keep it simple, you don't want it any more and take it from there (don't go into the whole Argos thing it will only confuse them!)
Good luckSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

Thanks! I'll get onto them first thing tomorrow.
If they refuse, I guess I can always play on the "Item not as advertised", under the Distance Selling Regulations? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

If you bought it online or on the phone the DSR's allows you to cancel the order without excuse (let them know you are doing so within 7 working days, the clock starts the day after you receive the product)...forget the 'item not as described' reason! Why shred stuff so quickly though!0
