Not having a good week on the customer service front...
Business Express tried unsuccessfully to deliver a parcel to me (twice) last week. Not a problem, I thought. Rang them up today to arrange re-delivery and was met with:
1. Me: I'm in the house every day after 3.00pm
Them: That's no use, we can't give you a specific time slot
2. Me: Can you deliver to my office?
Them: No, we can't deliver to a place of work
3. Me: I've a plastic crate with a lid outside the back door, could you leave it in there?
Them: No, we're not allowed to leave things outside
4. Me: Could you leave it at the Post Office?
Them: (unintelligible muttering)
It's not as if it even needs a signature! All they could suggest was that I gave them somebody else's address and they would try and deliver there. However, I'm new to the area and don't know anybody nearby let alone anyone guaranteed to be in during the day. I know people complain when parcels get stolen or damaged by being left in inappropriate circumstances but for goodness sake what am I supposed to do, take a week off work?? The 'local' depot is too far away to collect readily. Not sure what's going to happen now as she was going away to speak to the driver. Think tomorrow when she phones back I'll suggest they stick it in the post...
Grrrr!! >:(

I cant understand why in the 21st century couriers and delivery people cant give you an estimated time for delivery so you only have to stay in for a couple of hours rather than a whole day! >:(0
