Oh dear, it is pretty clear....... the link i posted was very clear, well I thought so anyway - granted I do work for them. What's annoyed me mind is that even though I posted the official link, it was still not believed.
I've actually stopped posting on the Cutting Tax forum as the HMRC staff on there were'nt being believed there either.
The media has created a whole completely un-neccessary view of HMRC and when / how they collect tax, yes as a nation we are highly taxed but they do not want every penny off you, in fact I would dare to say that a lot of people on here probably receive tax credits (me included), thats HMRC giving money out.

    Sorry rant over.

I have been self employed for about 25 years. My ex was self employed also, starting about ten years earlier. I must say that all my dealing with the Inland Revenue (I still like to call them that) have been more than satisfactory. If there is something I am not sure about, I tend to ring and ask. I have never had anything but clear, constructive advice. I don't actually like paying tax(!), but I certainly can't fault the staff.

I still like to say I work for the Inland Revenue, dont get me wrong its not a great job as we are abused constantly but it pays the bills and it fits in perfectly with my young son. I think all the bad press started and still remains mostly with tax credits, what an awful system that is. Too many issues......

Ahhhhh GYP wont let me add my receipts..... will try again later..

Am not doing any more begging jobs for them, done one today and they changed the timings, was meant to be a breakfast but they said I could do it as lunch instead but they're only re-imbursing me for the breakfast, I queried it and was told that i'm getting extra anyway so they wont increase it to actually cover the meal purchased. Swines..

It's that kind of thing I really don't get - for the sake of a couple of quid they would rather annoy someone who is doing them a favour by taking an urgent job - what is the logic in that?
  • I can't do the burger jobs because I failed the test.

But the burger shop near my work has a notice stuck to each till saying:

"Smile. Upsell. If asked for a receipt, tell a manager".

I always ask for a receipt anyway when I go in there. I think they are convinced I am the mystery shopper as last time I went in, there was a queue and straight away when they saw me, more tills were opened and I got the floorshow you all talk about.

Once I went in with a friend and asked for a receipt. I still got the floorshow but overheard one member of staff saying "It doesn't matter anyway because he's brought someone with him, so we can complain about that...."

I really hope the real MSer for that branch appreciates my efforts in causing confusion!

The only other time I think they've "twigged" was in a GR electrical shop, where he went to a great deal of effort to make a point of using both hands to pass my the paperwork!
    Happy New Year
  • Is anyone else doing a coloured clothing store for ESA where you have to purchase an item and then return it?

I hate taking things back, much prefer it when they just give you a reimbursement for the purchase and the fee lol. Especially since I really like the top I've just tried on and don't particularly want to take it back *sigh*

All in a days work I guess...

Well I've had an eventful day. I twisted my knee last night, so hopped into A&E this morning for a couple of x-rays and the result is that I've stretched the ligament. So a couple of days on crutches and some rest. Now I've got a meal out on Friday which won't be too hard but on Saturday I have 7 crisp photos and a covert audit

I've got myself a chauffeur for the day, but it is pretty annoying to have to drag someone else around for 4 hours. I don't want to let the company down by cancelling on them now as they're pretty desperate.
  • jus a quick one. just applied for a competitor window audit. Are they not going to mind me snapping away with my camera, i can hardley see how it can be done discretly. Anyone got any experience?
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
