i did these last weekend and i could not access it. if you follow the notes it does cover everything you need to record so no nasty suprises in the questionnaire. annoying though!

Ok great, and thanks for the reply :D. I didn't want to miss out on something and have to go back.

This is interesting - so by my understanding of this sentence, if there is no fee for a job (lets use the Pizza one as an example) then the reimbursement of that pizza should be taxed? So if the reimbursement was £10 for example, £2 of that would have to be paid to the taxman leaving the job looking even less appealing. If there is a fee on top, no matter how small then it could be argued that the reason for the expenditure was not the free pizza but the extra cash.

Is that correct, not sure if I have the right end of the stick - I have looked over the HM customs website and am still a little confused tbh...

So in regards to the pizza, would you have ordered the pizza otherwise, if the answers no you wouldnt then the expense that you paid out was wholly and exclusively to be able to carry out the assignment therefore the £10 (from prev post) would be noted as an expense.

I'm not sure about that - looking at it the other way, what would be the reason for carrying out the assignment other than to get the pizza?

Experience? to use as an incentive to get more work from the company? still not sure whether these reasons would get it ok'd tho!

The point being if you were not carrying out a MS would you have still have ordered the pizza that night therefore you would have bought it anyways. So the expense would not have been wholly and exclusively for the job.

More than happy for you to start it TG - just make sure you get everyone's approval this time, some people can be, erm, difficult!
