I'm having a day off today after slipping over coming out of my 5th egg shop yesterday. Feeling achy today but pleased to have got 7 shops all done and written up yesterday.

Am boiling eggs for lunch, although my kids are now complaining that they don't like eggs.

Anyone else have problems with getting assigned jobs by React?

I've applied for lots and haven't got any at all. Obviously, I'm new to them but it's getting a bit tedious and they have lots of jobs where I live so it would be nice to get a foot in the door.

I've been signed up with them a while but only got my first 2 jobs before Xmas. Have been allocated 3 since though so hopefully things are on the up!

... and on another note, the promised cheque from ABA-i for my December petrol job came this morning.:T

  • Hi

Do you know what the A12 Colchester to Ipswich like?

I have a department store and travel agent to do there tomorrow, was going to drive through and park at the Buttermarket.

    Is it worth it?

Ipswich is like an icerink today, and it's supposed to snow again this afternoon and overnight.

Pennies, if you havn't left yet the A14 is a lot worse today, be careful near B st E saw a transit rolled on its side and a lorry through the central resevations on the way back this morning.

Roads up here are bad. There's been no gritters on our local roads as there is a grit shortage so they are keeping it for major roads.

Main roads were slushy and slippy and side roads have thick compacted snow which is really difficult to drive on.

Take care if you are out and about today xx
Here I go again on my own....

Saw Durham on the local news Becles. Looks similiar to here. You've done well to get out at all.
Well I tried to get out today. Spent nearly 2 hours clearing my drive and I'm knackered. Getting too old for this physical stuff. Then I watched somebody else from further down the street trying to get up the road. They made it but were skidding and swerving the whole way up. Sod that I thought, especially when it started snowing again. I've got beer, I'm happy.

i managed to get straight out this morning in the car which i am amazed by! esp since the problems i had last night and the fact it snowed again here overnight. roads in norwich were awful this morning due to all the snow, even the main roads were still covered in inches of snow. is much better now though thank god. three jobs for tomorrow but ones in yarmouth so going to cancel that as don't fancy my chances making there in one piece! back out this afternoon to city centre but am going to walk there :)

tax stuff - in terms of mileage do you all claim for your return journey or just the cost to get there, may sound stupid but like to be absolutely certain i don't mess this up. all my records include to return journey but if needed i'll cut in half.

to be honest its looking like ive not even made a profit!

also i had to stop MS in April last year because of having no computer amongst other things, my last job was April8th - do I include this in last year tax or will I have to enter that one job next year? I'm sorry if people ask these questions but don't have much time on here so just typing this now and will check when i can.

    thanks

I hadn't been assigned any either. Then there was something on the log in page about urgent telephone jobs and I got in touch. That job had gone but they rang and offered me a different one and thanked me for getting in touch. Since then I've had a couple more. Keep a lookout for messages on the log in page. I'm sure this was my "foot in the door" so to speak.

I record the whole round trip for my mileage, so there and back again. However if I'm doing, for example 2 jobs in the same town centre I would claim the distance there on one and the distance back on the other, thus dividing it by 2. Does that make sense?
I'm not sure about the tax dates as I'm new to this too! Hopefully somone more knowledgeable than me will be along soon.
