Hi need some help here.
I have a HP Pavillion, and it has the quickplay touch sentive buttons, a bit like this one
http://www.fastrackcomputing.net/forum/images/HP_Pavi-HDX_7K.jpg
But the mute and the volume buttons are not working. Everything was fine a few days ago and all of a sudden they do not work. If i touch them you here the 'beep' but the mute button....doesn't change from blue when its not on mute to orange (mute) and the volume doesnt go up or down either. Tried with media player - also not working but the play and pause and other buttons work.
If i open quickplay - the buttons works? See image below if i click that the mute button above the keyboard turns to orange and blue respectively....

but they should work even without opening the quickplay browser thing.
Tried updating the quick launch software and tried system restore etc.
And tried hard reset like other websites mentioned where u take the battery out and press te power button. Nothing works.
Any help would be appreciated. Its not a huge problem just a rather annoying one!
Thank you.

go to the HP support site.
My old pavilion laptop has this issue once, you need to reinstall the drivers.
There should be instructions on there on how to do it, if not their support line should help with step-by-step instructions. Make sure to use saynoto0870 (google it) to find a cheaper rate alternative number so your dont pay through the nose for the pleasure of their support.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

^I realize you updated the HP QL software, but what of un-installing first and then re-installing? After the un-install I would cold reboot and only then re-install :cool:0
