First debt Elimination scam???

Hi all, I hope I have posted this in the right place
.
My story starts from back in March 2009. I was called by first debt elimination a lady called Allison, she asked me if I had any debts on credit cards catalogue ect... I said yes I have and she said would u like them paid off for you? of course I said yes. She explained that they would work on my behalf and claim my money back as I had a an "easy" case apparently. I didn't agree straight away I was very cautious as we were having money problems at that time anyway I agreed to do it and paid £914.25 to clear 2 debts I was assured time and time again that it would be easy and I would bew updated every week. After the initial emails I have tried contacting these people many many times no one ever returns your calls or emails sooo frustrated .
I have kept on ringing for the last 5 months but had nothing back, I decided to call the ministry of justice and they said this company are being investigated and I should try claiming my monies paid from the credit card company which I paid with which I have done but they have come back to me saying that even though they should take responsibility aswell as the company on this occasion they won't as I haven't already tried getting my money back from first debt. I have done some research it seems to me that the credit card company do have to give me a refund if I cannot get in touch with the company
.
Could someone please advise me as to where to go from here please?
Thank you x x x

I would look at taking First Debt Elimination to the small claims court. Maybe contact the CAB for advise.
In my opinion there is no way a credit card company is going to refund you an amount paid to a company that is involved in wiping credit card debts.0 -
You are probably out of time for a chargeback.
The transaction should really be treated the same as any other breach of contract under Section 75.
If i had my way i would tell you to bolt and close your credit card down. Thats my opinion thou. Thankfully i dont get to make that call:) I just think its ridiculous people think they can try get out of their debts and use their credit card to pay for it. Doesnt it sound a bit ifffy to anyone in this position.
MR scammer- yes i can write off all your credit card debit however I need to take a payment from your credit card and thus add to your credit card debt.
Customer - Ok
LOL
Its hiliarious really but all too often these companies talk !!!! and debit your account without agreeing to the amount./
Anyways all the best contact your bank templates on consumer direct, - Section 75 hopefully you have all your documentation and can prove you have not recieved a service from the merchant.0
