i stupidly got a drop of my contact lens solution (which contains hydrogen peroxide) onto the touchpad on my laptop and now it has started peeling in that area!
i didn't even know touchpads could peel...it was only a tiny bit of solution on my finger!
will the peeling have any adverse effects?

the pad could loose sensitivity in that area or worse the pad could die compleatly, the pad has a layer of plastic over it so if it gets damaged it will fall apart. normall use wears the layer thin but it goes shinny but usually they last almost as long as the laptop so the laptop gets replaced before it splits.
I expect they can be replaced just searched ebay and there are a few on there.0

thanks..there is a touchpad unit on there which matches my laptop but i don't want to risk taking it apart and putting it back together. i don't really want to pay someone to do it either.
would i be able to buy some protective film and cover the touchpad with it?:heart2:

Possibly, im not sure if it will work with a cover on it. I would proberbly buy a screen protector for a PDA or somthing ang give it a try.
O2 shops sell packs of 7 for a few quid0

Maplins do a cleaning & protective kit, I used it on my satnav 'cos I'm to mean to shell out loadsamoney for the"recommended original spares".
Included are 3 9cm. X 7cm. protective films which you cut to size together with cleaning fluid, brush, cloth squeegee etc. and all for the princely sum of £1-99. It works on the touchscreen on my satnav so I suppose it could also work on a lappy touchpad, isn't the technology vaguely similar ?
