Hotels.com bad Octopus Hotels good!

I've been trying to book a hotel with Hotels.com for 4 days.
First time, got a mail saying it was in progress, then 24 hours later I called them (indian call centre following scrip) and they told me to wait another 24 hours. Then after that, they told me to book again.
I did.
Same thing happened.
I called and they were trying to get my card details, even though I had the itinerary number - no, I don't want to book on the phone because it's too much trouble spelling all name, address, etc.... And I certainly won't give my card security number on phone. They told me to try again later.
I tried last night.
Exact same thing happened.
So I gave up and booked through Octopus Hotels.
Quick, efficient, similar price, and when the voucher didn't arrive on the email, I called them (local call centre) and 5 minutes later had my voucher!
