Why can't I get email from a particular person?

I have hotmail, he has AOL. He can email me, but I can't email him. He receives emails from others. I have him logged in my address book and he's not on my blocked list. He also has enough space in his mailbox and he hasn't blocked me. I'm stuck! Any ideas?

Maybe your email address is blacklisted by AOL themselves by mistake, email yourself to see if that works, is it only him on AOL or other folk, yep just send yerself an email if you dont get it you may have an incorrect setting.0

I can email myself - no probs. Not sure about other AOL users, not sure if I've had anyone else from AOL email me lately.0 -
Here's the message I get:
Reporting-MTA: dns;hotmail.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;mail.hotmail.com
Arrival-Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2006 01:39:16 -0700
Final-Recipient: rfc822;THEPERSON@aol.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554-: (HTM:B1) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554htmb1.html
554 TRANSACTION FAILED
Then I looked up the URL and got this:
Error 554 HTM:B1
554 HTM:B1

EXPLANATION:
You are using an MSN or Hotmail Account. The IP address you are sending from has generated complaints or is sending a large volume of email.
SOLUTION:
We can no longer accept this email. Please contact your Hotmail or MSN for further assistance.

I've now contacted MSN support. Let's see what they say.0

try to use a proxy... use this site to help you out: http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/staticpages/index.php/how-do-I-use-a-proxy-server
and just google for proxy lists. when you find a working proxy, test it out using this http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/... if the proxy works, then the ip address wont be the same as yours, it'l be the same as the proxy you'r using.
send the e-mail whilst using the proxy and see if it sends. then stop the proxy and get back to us... wether it works or not0 -

They were but not now. It wasn't so much that NTL were blocking it, it was apparently due to Hotmail being on the spam server's list that NTL now use. After some sort of negotiations I can now receive mail from Hotmail accounts again.0 -
Got this reply from MSN:
An inability to send mail to a specific domain is typically caused by one of two factors:
1. High volumes of traffic on either Hotmail or the domain you're trying to send to will cause message delivery delay. Your messages are queued up behind other messages waiting to be delivered. In these instances, you may get notifications that your messages are being delayed, or have not yet been delivered. Since no corrective action can be taken, it's best to be patient and know that your mail will ultimately be delivered once traffic lessens.
2. If you receive a specific message that your mail is blocked by another service, this occurs when too much unwanted/unsolicited/commercial mail is sent from one service (Hotmail) to another (AOL) or vice versa. In these cases, a service may opt to block mail for a specific amount of time (usually no more than 48 hours) while it clears the unwanted mail off its servers and communicates with us about any issues. Again, these situations typically resolve themselves.
Of course, there is the rare chance that your mail is failing to be delivered for a reason other than the two mentioned above. If you find that you cannot send mail to a specific domain for a period of greater than 48-hours, please reply to this message and we will investigate and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
I have sent another email to the AOL account. I haven't had a bounce yet, so it looks promising...0
