Radio car fitting problem
Got a Panasonic CQ-C1475N but it's not going well getting into (and working) on a 1994 Cavalier.
The lump of wires that come with the radio fit at the back of the empty radio tray ok and i get static through the speakers (CD playing works fine) but:
No radio stations at all are being found during scan.
The radio doesn't push back far enough to fit properly. Sticks out 2 inches or more due to the large connector (on the end of the wiring).
Any thoughts folks?
I was told this radio fits 'any' car. grrrrrr

The car aerial is on a separate connector to the main wiring loom. It'll be floating around behind the dash somewhere.0

Completely remove the black metal cage from the car, this is only designed to hold the original vauxhall radio. Remove the screw from the back centre (8mm hex, torx15 or crosspoint) and squeeze the top and bottom together and pull out, pressing the plastic lugs to remove the connectors. Then plug the cables in ensuring you swap the red and yellow on the radio over, vauxhalls are connected the wrong way round. You will probably also need an aerial adaptor like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC5-27-ISO-to-DIN-Aerial-Adaptor-ISO-DIN-99p-DEAL_W0QQitemZ150387160534QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item2303c5f5d6 to get the tuner to work.0

Thanks for that. Didn't think you could remove the black cage without stripping half the facia off but yes.. bending it top and bottom got it out. Just needed to push the wires/aerial back behind it.
New one fits flush now. Looks like i will need the adaptor (thanks for the link).
Nice to have music in the car after 2 years without. ipod works well with it too. Great.
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it!Never sign anything!0
