Just got this email saying Computershare aren't involved in managing these shares any more.

Dear Standard Life Shareholder

Standard Life plc - change of share registrar

From 10 July 2009, the administration of your Standard Life shares will
no longer be managed by Computershare Investor Services - and, because
of the change of share registrar, you will not be able to view or manage
your Standard Life shares through Investor Centre.

To continue managing your Standard Life shares online, please visit
www.standardlifeshareportal.com from Monday 13 July.

Any questions?

If you have any questions about your Standard Life shares after 10 July,
please call Standard Life Shareholder Services on 0845 113 0045 or +44
(0) 20 3367 8224 if you live outside the United Kingdom - or email
questions@standardlife.com

Yours sincerely

Computershare Web Team

I haven't had any such email? What did they say as to who would hold the shares for you?

That email came from a response to an email the OP would have already sent.

Capita are dealing with Standard Life now. I can't understand why they changed tbh.

nope, it just dropped in my inbox out of the blue. I haven't ever contacted Computershare or Standard Life about my shares so I presumed they were just advising everybody who holds shares with them

Got the same email yesterday. Checked online with my computershare account and the standard life shares are no longer there.

Tried to join the StandardLife shares portal but the website didn't like my login details for some reason.

Any idea why they have done this, not very user friendly for shareholders.
