Hi Techies, my bank have offered better security with a free download. Should I do it or will it slow down my laptop? Thanks for any advice.

What security do you have now and what security have they offered?:idea:0

Yes, go for it. I have a hardware and software firewall, Avast av, SuperantiSpyware, MalawareBytes, Ccleaner and Obit Security. Now because my debit card has been compromised I've installed Rapport.0

If its kaspersky then definitely take it.0

Need far more details. Which bank, software? Your current anti-virus & anti-malware programs?0

Hope you are not responding to an e-mail apparently from your bank which could be a phishing attempt.maimee_magic wrote: »Hi Techies, my bank have offered better security with a free download. Should I do it or will it slow down my laptop? Thanks for any advice.
More details required - but as hethmar has said, if you bank with Barclays and have online access, you can get Kaspersky Internet Security free after logging into your account.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -
Thanks for all the replies. I use antivir and the free security is Rapport. It came up when I logged on.0

Not something ive ever used. Id suggest giving it a go as at least youve done exactly what your bank has requested so if anything WAS stolen online, then you can at least tell them youve secured yourself as they suggested
If it slows your computer down or you have problems you can always remove it again:idea:0 -

Must admit, not au fait with Rapport; I have used antivir in the past but I returned to my favorite - Avast. If you don't have anti-malware protection then Windows Defender - with real-time protection - is one option :cool:0 -

rapport isnt anti virus though, its just a program for warning you are actually logging into the correct natwest/rbs site, from here it says " Rapport works with your antivirus and firewall software – it’s not designed to replace this valuable protection." so OP id still keep AntiVir and install rapport0 -

I never said it was. Im simply saying at least the OP will have covered themselves if it all goes belly up at some point (Ive heard a few stories now where people have lost money due to online fraud and the banks HAVNT compensated as the users didnt have 'sufficient security measures' on their computer):idea:0
