The op has a pc that meets their needs, apart from one specific problem, the easiest and cheapest solution is to convert it, burn to dvd, forget about HD, or spend a few quid on a graphics card. Binning a perfectly working pc is just wasteful.

So all he needs now is a PC capable of converting the video!
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Any pc is capable of conversion, it's just number crunching.

    Oh don't forget this.

I didn't forget any of that. If you read all of my posts, that is taken into consideration.

But it seems that you can barely spell correctly, so I don't hold out much hope from your skills at comprehension.

You didn't even note that I posted links to suitable graphics cards earlier in the thread. Both have dedicated memory.

I won't bother with the rest of your rant, as it's all been covered before. The upshot is that he can do a simple and inexpensive upgrade in order to play the video produced by the Panasonic camera.

As to the nonsense about the graphics card being obsolete within a year....

You've must have misunderstood me. Donnie, your out of your element.

My post was pretty clear. I think the OP should get a new computer as his old one is outdated. I stated that if he did not mind a less than perfect playback of HD (e.g. some stuttering and whatnot) then he could get a cheap video card off eBay that's supposed to be quite good with HD and try it. But he won't get great results and I don't recommend that option at all.

Didn't misunderstand you, just waiting for you to produce links to the items that you have recommended to the OP. ;)

But they're not AVCHD Lite format! AVCHD and AVCHD Lite are heavy on resources compared to HDV or WMV HD

Indeed that is why I have recommended a dedicated graphics card and suitable codec. (Where is that yawn emoticon?)
