Rosiewriter - I felt I had to comment re your posting above.

I started this thread and since starting it, we have built up an amazing community of crafters in Northern Ireland, most of whom I know personally. I can assure you that the comment made by Rach would NEVER have been intended as a snide comment. We are a very friendly bunch and I genuinely believe that Rach's comment has been misinterpretted. PLEASE dont turn this particular thread into any sort of dispute thread - I have seen that happen on many others, but we have all taken great care and pride to ensure that this thread, despite the potentially competitive nature of what we do, has ALWAYS been friendly, supportive, open and honest. We share information, give each other advice, and often have a good giggle, and we welcome you to join us in that :-) Please lets not drag out any dispute at the expense of supporting each other in what is promising to be an amazingly busy time over the next few months! Good luck with your crafting!

I will second that supermum! I only started crafting last year after many years 'in the wilderness' and I honestly don't know what I would have done without the support network we have here. I was able to turn up for my first craft fair feeling like I already had friends, which made a huge difference. The banter on this forum is always taken in good humour and for what it is...a bit of banter. We have an amazing little community and I echo supermum by welcoming all to join in with the craic....the same way I was warmly welcomed when I joined up. We're all so busy that you have to have a laugh now and then right? And what better place to share our daily woes, funny stories and ideas than on here with the people who will truly understand. Big love to you all! (I'm so cheesy) :)

Yes, sorry, didn't mean to offend!! There has been quite a bit on this forum generally (tho not really on this thread) of people creating dual identities to praise their own stuff as you're not allowed to directly advertise yourself on here. I appreciate from your response that this is not the case here and so apologise wholeheartedly. We are friendly really (even me tho you probably wouldn't believe it so far...!) and as the others have said this site fills lots of gaps for many of us as an extremely useful resource in finding events, plus a place for good bit of blether and craic, and also a sounding off board when we do fairs and no-one turns up!!
Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D

If nobody else has pipped me to the post I'm still interested.

Good luck at Ballywalter. Hope you do well and have a good day.

About these dual identities, wouldn't the site pick up on their identities coming from the same IP address on their computers? I've been on a site where I posted photos of work I did and I allowed a few people I was tutoring at that time use my computer to post their work on the site and they got blocked because of the IP address being mine. I had to email the man who owned the site to get them unblocked. He explained that their anti-spam system stopped people setting up multiple identities for exactly the same reasons you're talking about.

I don't know how closely the monitoring is round this as i know its ok by site rules to set up a second account and indeed on the 'problem page' boards people freely admit to having created new accounts to discuss issues when folk know their previous id. Also i suppose quite a few folk have a pc and laptop (2 ip addresses) personally i think a certain amount of promotion should b ok (eg post looking for a choc fountain why shouldn't someoneb able 2 say "hey i do that an i'm fabulous!) what do da rest of u think?

    Hi again
I was just looking at some of the embroidery work that some of you do (fantastic):):)
Forgive my ignorance but does anyone do embroidered logos for corporate wear i.e I would like to get a couple of polo or T shirts done with my logo to wear at the like of craft fairs events etc
Not sure if that breaches forum rules but presumably you can send a pm

    Many thanks
