Still in BETA testing but available as a download from here......

Having run Adaware and Spybot before the Microsoft utility still found some malware hidden in my registry, it created a restore point and cleaned it up.

You might not get to keep it though, even when the full version is released
updates
Details of the Microsoft solution beyond the planned beta, including product plans, pricing, and a timeline for delivery, are not yet available.

How is the GIANT AntiSpyware product that I purchased different from the free beta version that Microsoft will be introducing?
Beta product users will not have access to Online Support and will receive product updates for a limited time period.

Seems that MS has bought or is developing something of Giant'sWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
Great find yes. but in my opinion I wouldn't touch that product. Internet Explorer and Windows are bad enough with security issues but using a Microsoft product to remove spyware isn't a wise idea.
I'd stick to some of the more popular and better Spyware thats available. ie: Ad-Aware!
Just a thought! :-/0 -

But it's not "a Microsoft product". It's Giant's product - see earlier linksI'd stick to some of the more popular and better Spyware thats available. ie: Ad-Aware!

And this seems to find things missed by AdAware, according to users here and on other forums.
Remember, that you have to rely on the suppliers continually updating their database with new threats as they are identified. So there is unlikely to be any one product that is completely up to date, all of the time.
It's a bit harsh to refer to other products as "better", unless one conducts an objective review of both (or a number of different) products.
Not "having a go" for the sake of it, but on a public forum some people will take your comments at face-value and it's only right that they are balanced outWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Yes but Microsoft own this!
There definitly are far better programs than this out there.
I'm going to download this and try it out and compare it with AdAware!
I'll post back when I'm done! Just to prove that its crap!0 -
I certainly would not use M.S alone but its a useful addition to the rest. I originally thought about buying when it was Giant but now I'm glad I waited. Dosn't do a bad job so far and if it does find rubbish the others miss then its worth having.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
