volunteer time costs"money".When you apply for grants you cost volunteer time at a going rate.If the charity had no volunteers they could not function unless they paid people to do the work.Volunteers "earn" their wages and choose to donate them to their particular cause.They are unpaid workers and worth their weight in gold.Every day above ground is a good one

I think at one point some charity shops stopped selling toys because of the safety legislation - if it doesn't have the CE mark, it's not guaranteed to be up to European safety standards. For the same reason not all charity shops will accept electricals, but one of our local 'chains' will, they get them centrally checked out by a qualified electrician before they go on sale.
But charity shops do vary widely: some of them are far more 'professional' in their approach than others!Signature removed for peace of mind0
