We were tempted to make a start last night, and probably will tonight as the kids break up from school today and DH also finishes work today.

  • Am so pleased we are disciplined this year! I still have 3 packs of pringles, bombay mix, 3 choc oranges, 2 boxes of biscuits and some other bits and bobs. I think it comes from my parents not allowing us to open anything nice until Christmas eve - how many days left ;)
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
  • Thankfully we haven't started on anything from the food - and won't till Christmas Eve - but the bottles of pop - we've got through about 8 bottles of coke that we'd been stocking up on since early Nov - yes we've replaced it but it's so tempting to get another one down. But then we do drink more than we eat in this house so i guess it's not surprising.

Present wise, we've eaten three of the tubes (the ones that are like smarties or rolos or fruit pastles etc) but they've been replaced and wrapped up again so all being well it'll all be alright!

I have never quite worked out why people go mad on chocolates and sweets over Christmas, never bought them myself at Christmas. We do have nuts, which are safely packed away, and we do have Pringles, again packed away. Christmas cake and pud are marinading - will be just right at Christmas, and mince pies and cheese straws are not being made till next week anyway. Anyone found my halo?

Not seen it but will be mine next week when I still wont have any of the above in my home! Am so lucky will be visiting people this year! No need to have anything Christmas food related in my kitchen! (apart from maybe Brussel Spouts and cloved- Oranges which I love:D)

    Sorry- I'll stop gloating now!!

nope - Don't like any of the vile stuff.
  • yes me also, i would have been good if it wasnt for my other half saying about 9pm 'do you have any chocolate ' ?? we have managed to get through 2 chocolate orange tubs and 2 celebration tubs...frankly i will be sick of choc by the time xmas comes. I think starting early by buying all the offers is far too much temptation.

We have been pretty good just a chocolate orange and a box or 2 of pringles gone but replaced and hidden along with the alcohol! Its quite good because the things i bought early i have hidden and forgot about so i think a treasure hunt will be happening some time in the next week to search for all the goodies!

  • I have got loads in because...............................It's christmas!!!!!!!!!!:j:j:j:j:j

I save like mad all year to be able to get the goodies and enjoy them, we have only got a tin of roses this year, but we also have the cadbury fingers, chocolate orange, cadbury snow bites, selection boxes etc, it all has really good dates on so if it doesn't all get eaten at xmas then they will get eaten in to the new year and i have bought a lot of the things when they have been on offer aswell.

I won't open anything untill christmas eve though as i have told my family they can not have any of this stuff that i have put away because it's for xmas and only xmas, so i have to practice what i preach, although i wonder if they have noticed, that tin of luxury biscuits that have secretly vanished, moi, scoffed them, never....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
