Yeah the BPA is essentially a club for scamsters. They're not a Government or independent organisation in anyway.0

Yes, at least these were honest thieves, everybody knew they were after your money. PPC's hide behind a quasi legitimate front and a lot of the public think they are at fault.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
We need to keep an eye on the scammers, the government wants all the tax revenue it can get and I can see some sort of deal to enable PPCs to make their charges legitimate for a nice cut of the fees. Why just settle for £2.50 per mugging when there is a lot more to be had? Government and PPCs have a similar code of ethics.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

I think it would be useful if someone could get to the BPA lunch/awards and record any speeches and/or note down anything interesting said.
I'm sure discussions are going on behind the scenes to do with the proposed regulations on clamping, and the BPA are involved.
They could easily step out of line at this sort of old-boys' lunch and if that was then to be leaked to the right newspapers it could blow BPA out of the reckoning as far as being connected to the independent appeals process is concerned.
I think we should do all we can to stop that 'independent appeals' process being connected in ANY way to the BPA or the SIA, personally. Both are sooooo far on the side of the clampers that they are hopelessly biased.
The tapes of anything useful could lead to a 'clampgate' article in the press!:rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just found the Parking Review article about John Culshaw's 'contribution' in handing out these trophies at the British Parking Awards:
http://www.parkingreview.co.uk/news/?ID=2822&StartRow=1
Notice that he hilariously called the trophies 'crystal Fixed Penalty Notices' (wot, like those unrelated notices that the Police issue then, nowt to do with the Penalty Charge Notices these self-congratulatory idiots on a jolly at the BPA Awards actually deal in?).
And the BPA got an award as well (yawn):
'The first trophy was a surprise award for the British Parking Association, presented by Parking Review. The Outstanding Contribution Award marked the association’s 40 years of serving the parking sector and its recent work in professionalising the sector via initiatives such as the Safer Parking Scheme, Institute of Parking Professionals, Sector Skills Strategy and Approved Operators Scheme.'
It's also amusing to see many of the Local Authorities mentioned on here regularly as issuing dodgy PCNs and not bothering about whether their lines and sign comply, getting a big pat on the back and a trophy for their sad little office.
What was the point?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
