My mum went sainsbury's christmas shopping today as she had £20 on her Nectar card, but she wasnt allowed to use the nectar money as it wasnt her normal store! Anyone else think thats insane?? Anyway, she left all her shopping at the checkout and left! Ha!

yes its in the terms and conditions in order to spend your points in a store you have to have collected in store

no its not it means that people are less inclined to steal your card and try to claim the points off them because they would have to buy something in the shop to be able to use the card

I think this is confusing ...it should be that you can collect nectar points in any store... but can only spend them in the store you registered with. I agree....total madness !!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -

I was behind someone once and I did not have my nectar card so asked if they wanted the points --- they gladly agreed and off they went. When my shopping went through the cashier asked me if I wanted to take my rewards off ................... if I had been dishonest the person who`s card it was would have been seriously out of pocket !!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0

you register with a store by spending and swiping your card
no you dont ... you nominate a store when you register you card ... my store is different to my mums and we live in the same street! She just nominated the other store..and as such can only spend her rewards there even though there is another store nearer.I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -

So does that mean if she had used that store before (its the one closer to her house, the other one is closer to her work but shes retiring v soon!) she would have been able to use her points? They told her it was only her 'home' store where she could spend the points! Maybe she should have bought a pack of polo's or something first and then used the points for her xmas big shop!0
