oh atleast you have an interesting course ..well done you ...no wonder you dont want to think about giving it up ... the time will fly in ...i am in second year at uni and one thing i did notice was at this time of year everyone feels the same way ....once xmas is by with its like your over the hump of the year or something ...alot better
so what you gonna do once you are qualified?0 -
I think you're right. There are so many other pressures at this time of year, aren't there?
I'm hoping to do community and therapeutic horticulture once I'm qualified. I'm particularly interested in how gardening can help manage stress levels <wail>
What are you studying? How do you manage the balancing act of being a student and having a life? lolSealed pot challenge member #806 9.98/100

Hi there,
Thought I'd jump in and share grumbles about being a student and working:rolleyes: I'm in my 30s too.... on my own with my 2 girlies of 12 and 10 and go to Uni once a week (though classed as full time) and work the other 4 days as a teaching assistant. I'm doing Education Studies....1st yeartoo and much as I was looking forward to it, right now I'm finding it sooo much stress.
I also have Crohn's disease (nice inflammation of the intestine) and it's been rubbish recently....I have to have an op very soon to have the manky bit of gut removed:rolleyes: Was meant to be before Xmas, but hospital have been nigh on useless so goodness knows when it'll be.
I just have soooo much work to do.....zero motivation and am really wondering why I#m doing it?!!;) Also, my Dad paid my fees for this year as I studied when I was younger so couldn't have the fee loan for this year. So I can't drop out! And anyway, I've always wanted a degree.....just didn't realise I'd find it so overwhelming:p
Ok, rant over.....just wanted to say hi and let you know you're not on your tod with this:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Milly, I totally agree. I knew it would be hard going at times, I never banked on it being hard going ALL of the time!
Keep with it, we'll feel so good when we've done it, ay?Sealed pot challenge member #806 9.98/100

I've been woken up through the night with horrific heart burn. The last (and only times) I had heart burn was during my pregnancies.
I had the mirena fitted in September. I've not had a period since late October. Although that alone could be normal I think I may be taking a pregnancy test later today. I seem to flit from one drama to another. While a pregnancy in normal circumstances would be a welcomed surprise for me, my husband may not be as happy (he was pushed to the limit with 2 non sleeping children and a severely depressed wife). A pregnancy with a coil fitted often can't continue anyway so I'd better crack on and get a test.
Happy Monday y'all.Sealed pot challenge member #806 9.98/100

Hi all
Just thought I'd put in my two pennies worth.
I have no kids, but did do a degree ain Criminology fter school. Then I got a full time job and did another degree in Community and Criminal Justice. No kids, but still a mortgage, a house, two dogs and a fiancee to look after. Oh and the job I was training for was to be a Probation Officer. Many people don't really understand what we do, but trust me its no normal 9-5. Its very very stressful and a huge amount of responsiblity. So to qualify I did a full time degree in two years, working as a trainee PO at the same time and did an NVQ level 4 in Working with Offending Behaviour.
The point? A year after i graduated and qualified I'm still alive and enjoying the payrise and having free nights and weekends.
I'm not saying this to rub it in, but to say it does end eventually and its totally worth it. Not just money, but the sense of achievement and being in a job you love and get reward from
