I finished the ironing marathon earlier but have still not tackled the post
. Don't seem to have the energy tonight so that will have to stay on the list.
My qualifier settled so I have put on another 2 which will settle tomorrow and then need to do another 2, to get my next freebet. Also put another little qualifier on for a casino offer. So feel like I have made quite a bit of effort on the MB front but no profit since last week . I need to build up the momentum again as I was making an average £50 per week before christmas. I'm sure I will see the benefit of these qualifiers later in the week.0 -
Good morning to everyone, double scratch day and managed 2 x 60p and a 10p from not-so-generous virgin. Still mulling over what to do about that one

Nothing else to report at the moment so off to see if I can get the xmas tree and decorations back into boxes.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Evening everyone, hope all reading have had a good day. We have been out and about for most of it so have not done any debtbusting yet
, but not spent anything either :j.
Since we got back I have cleaned out the fridge, chucked all unsavable christmas food
:o, organised everything else, written a list of food in the fridge and freezer ready to meal plan, opened all the post finally :j, filed / shredded / made a to-do list from the contents of the post, emptied all the bins, and finished putting all the xmas decs in boxes ready for attic :T
So I'm planning on a nice relaxing evening looking at the bank accounts, checking on matched bets and seeing what I can knock off the list - oh and catching up with MSE obviously

Evening all, oh my gosh I have not updated for ages!
I am updating my totals at the moment although there doesn't appear to be much movement .
I have been maxed out at work so it's not leaving me with much moneymaking time. Have only managed £22 overpayment to debts so far this month which isn't going to make a massive difference, but I suppose it is better than going in the opposite direction.
I think I am going to work on a signature which will hopefully give me a kick up the bum!0 -
OK just testing new signature0

Right time for a proper update after faffing around with sig
.
Here is some progress I have made since my last update:- Virgin - Decided that I will deposit and play through the £5 per month, but carefully monitor to ensure it is still profitable. I knew it would definitely return a profit this month as already had over £3 in there from scratch winnings. So I deposited my fiver the other day and duly started playing through. So far I am up over £12 :T. Most of this is due to a few little bingo wins so just luck and not normally to be expected, but all helps and I have ages until I have to deposit again. I will probably spend a few pennies here and there also to keep in their good books.
- Matched betting - Last weeks profit was £113 :j:j. However the week before was big fat zero so it all evens out. This was mainly because I came to the end of a big basket I had been working though. I have now started a new basket but it has a huge wagering requirement so is tying up all of my available float. I still have a mahooosive £600 more wagering to complete on that one, so trying to chip away at that daily. My total MB pot since October 09 now stands at £601.02 (plus £132 I had to skim off for the builders = £733.02). None of my MB profit has been paid off a debt yet. I will look to do this as soon as my float is big enough to tackle offers like this more easily. Right now it would be counter productive to remove any of this from the pot but at least I know it is there if some terrible emergency occurred.
Mystery shopping - don't have anything booked at the moment and all my jobs are paid up
. Is it me or is there no decent jobs out there? Probably just me making feeble excuses
. I decided a while ago not to accept any jobs where I needed to spend anything I wouldn't get back. I know that sound like common sense but there are so many jobs where you only get a re-imbursement rather than a fee. For example you can do a pizza job where you have to order certain items and they will pay you back £19. You could go on your own to keep costs down but honestly who is going to do that? So me and OH used to go and have the minimum possible for 2 people while ordering the required items but rarely kept it under £19. So in one way its great because you get a nice very very cheap meal out but really thats not the point is it , I am supposed to be making money not spending it!
So included with those types of jobs there are shops where you only get a re-imbursement for what you purchased, which would be ok if you would have bought that item anyway but no good for making cold hard cash.
So really leftover are the bank and supermarket jobs. Last year I did my best to snaffle these up whenever they became available. As I work full time I tended to book these into my lunch hour so they had to be within a reasonable distance of my office. The average return for one of these is about £10. I think since I started MB'ing again I have slacked off these jobs. I think the reason is I receive an alert for a job, and then I see the cold and rain outside, the 10mins in the car, the frantically trying to find a parking space near target establishment, the ridiculous scenario questions which scream "i am a mystery shopper", the racing back to office to scoff lunch at desk, and furtively trying to complete report online without my boss noticing, and I think "I could make this tenner sitting on my bum with a nice cup of tea with a bit of MB'ing"... so then I justify not doing it.
But I am missing the steady drip of fees sneaking into my bank account every month... it all adds up so I obviously need to make more effort:o
Other than that, my house is turning back into a tip at a moderate speed, I have an overflowing ironing basket again, loads of unopened post and a really full inbox at work
. I also need to lose at least half a stone... but that can be next weeks project :rotfl:
Hope everyone reading is nice and warm!0 -
Sorry I post such long streams of consciousness
:rotfl:
I have just booked a petrol mystery shop for Monday :j

Hi
I really like your long chatty posts!!
I think I am going to restart Mystery Shopping - like you I can't always be bothered but it is regular extra money off the debts.
I have been doing quite well selling things on Amazon - it's so easy!
Good luck!Snowball DF Nov 2017Jan 2011 MBNA £2634.66 Feb £2608.37 Mar £2561.860 -
Aw thanks poorbuthappy! I just read it back this morning and thought blimey do I never stop for virtual breath lol!

I must look into Amazon, is it just books? I have very little left to sell now but have been thinking about listing some bits on ebay as its free listing on Sunday.
Good luck with the mystery shopping. I agree it sometimes doesn't seem worth it, but is come the end of the month.0 -
Love your username!! My favourite film of all time ever is the Wizard of Oz so when I noticed your diary I had to pop in and say hello.
You've made a wee mistake with your signature. It says:
6.5% paid off
It should say:
6.5% paid off :j
If you don't congratulate yourself on the small steps you'll never make the big ones and paying off 6.5% of your debt is a great achievement :T
I'll be subscribing to your diary to see how you're getting on! I also do the long rambling posts
