New elec. meter needed ??
Had a letter today from e.o.n saying that our supplier (npower) has informed them that we need a new elec. meter - this would be fitted free by eon.
I've not heard of this before.............is this normal practise ? I don;t want to agree to something without being sure.

Meters wear out and have to be replaced why would you not want a new one? Just make sure you record all the readings.

It's normal for meters to be replaced, and it's always free. If you are wondering why E.On are doing it, this is because they are the company that run the electricity distribution network where you live, in the West and East Midlands.0

Make sure the engineer leaves a card with final reading form old meter and initial reading for new meter. Then check you next bill to ensure it shows the new meter with the correct readings.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
