Warped back door letting the cold in – new door or repair?

Options
My back door is badly warped and is making my kitchen freezing. I have already put in foam to attempt to seal it but so much is needed that it’s now really difficult to close the door.

I have an additional problem that there is a definite gap at the bottom of my door – ie no sealing system.

Am I looking at a new door or is it worth me attempting to un-warp my old one? Its hardwood barn sort of door with diagonal bracing on the rear of the door.

If I need a new door I was going to get one from Howdens (a friend lets me buy through him) – are these decent quality and prices or should I be looking elsewhere?

Has anyone got a concept of how much I would be looking for a fitted new door – I had in my head about £500 (£250 for door, £150 fitting, £100ish for bits and pieces – locks, draft sealers etc). The building is a converted church so it would have to be decent quality and in keeping with the building (probably a very similar type to current look due to listed building)

Help appreciated.

    Hi Da,
Is there a galvanised metal water bar grooved into the door sill? if there is I would take it out and fit a storm guard, they are very simple to fit and have draught excluders fitted. If your existing door is warped there is very little chance of "un-winding " it(would need to clamp the door to a flat surface for a week or two at least and then it probably won't work).
My advice is fit a new door, make sure its a Hardwood one (Howdens are fine) and remember to treat all edges.......Will post a link to storm guards.http://www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/Products/Seals_for_Doors_and_Windows/Threshold_and_Draught_Seals/4373/Mobility_Threshold_with_Ramp___Inward_Opening_Doors/

PS With a storm guard you don't have to rebate the bottom of the door ,which you normallly need to do on an inward opening door.As your property is Listed you may be able to take the water bar out and replace it with a nylon one with a draught excluder fitted, but the new door will require rebating over it.(If its inward opening).

PPS Don't buy a door from ANY of the sheds, including Wickes ,IMO they are all rubbish ..Sounds like your door is a "Framed, ledged and Braced door, not sure if Howdens do a Hardwood one as my catalogue is in my workshop.Don't buy a softwood one as they don't last long.Is the existing door a standard size??? ie:6'6" high x 2' 6" wide? or 2'9" wide.......also 6'8" high x 2'8" wide is a standard size.

If the door is a standard size you would be able to get the job done for around £500......
