I would like to some advice to the following situation i find myself in, in relation to how i was treated by t mobile on trying to purchase a phone from them via buymobile phones.
To cut a long story short i was accepted by the above internet company to purchase a phone on an 18 month contract. The following day i received an email from buymobile phones saying that t- mobile had rejected my application as i've a poor credit rating and that i was to contact EQUIFAX. Thus £14.95 later i received my credit rating from them(equifax). I have an overall credit rating of 463,which in there own words is a good score and this score is a good candidate for credit.
What i'm at a loss to understand is how t- mobile have come up with this poor credit rating for me, i've never in my 33 years ever been turned down for credit, have recently got a remortgage on my house which is for roughly £135000. I've had mobile phones on contract and never defaulted with any payments. On speaking with EQUIFAX they are in agreement with me and also cannot understand as to why t- mobile has come to this conclusion.
I've now emailed t-mobile ( 16/06/2006) complaints department, they thus far have not had the courtesy to respond to my email. My concerns are potentially i now have a negative credit application , for want of a better word on my credit rating, how do i rectify this as i don't believe this is the case and also i believe i should be reimbursed by t - mobile for having to purchase a credit report which shows no reason for me being a person with a poor credit history. T- MOBILE really know how to treat potential new customers.!!!!!

Very strange. I don't have any advice to offer, sorry, but I'll be interested to see how it pans out.DFW Nerd 0350

You didn't have to spend £14.95 to get your credit rating so I doubt T Mobile will even entertain giving you that back. Why didn't you just get your plain old credit report which costs £2? The credit score you buy from Equifax is a generic score that equifax use and has no bearing on wether a lender will decide to give you credit. Each organisation has different ways of scoring applications and it looks like you don't meet T Mobile's criteria. The fact that you were turned down by T Mobile has no bearing on your credit file. The only thing that is recorded on your file is the fact that a search was made by T Mobile.0 -
You have to have a seriously bad report to be rejected by a phone company. I know people with defaults who have got a contract without any problems.
With nothing to point to the contrary on the report form, I also cannot understand what the problem is. Unless they have seen that you stay with a mobile company for a year or so and then leave on a regular basis.0 -
This probably sounds obvious but, is there an actually credit search by t-mobile on your file?0
