Just installed ZoneAlarm and my goodness, is it an eye-opener.
Apples's ituneshelper & mdnsresponder bonjour constantly demanding internet access. (Itunes not even running)
Google update (which is not even on my list of installed programs ) constantly looking access.

They are services requesting access, if they weren't installed, they'd not do it.
I suggest you Ctrl-Alt-Delete and bring up the Task Manager and look through the services...0 -
Bonjour will always ask for network access, as it wouldn't be able to work without it.
I don't know why iTunesHelper wants network access - its job is to watch for an iPod being plugged in so it can start iTunes. You can disable it by going to Run, typing msconfig.exe, and then unchecking it in the Startup tab.
You can follow these instructions to remove Google Update or the Google Updater. It probably got installed with Google Earth, Chrome, or Picasa.0
