hi

my mums line got slammed and she has been without a phone for past week or so.

have been trying to sort it for her and she is due to be connected to bt tomoro (friday 18th)

i signed her up to the Unlimited Weekend Plan as i didnt think it was a 12 month contract, apparently it is a 12 month contract( becasue her line got deactivated in the slam?)

if she is to be on a 12 month contract she may aswell be on the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan whic i believe to be a rolling 12 month one?

as she is a pensioner this will save her a few ££ and so be more beneficial.

i dont know how to go about swapping it though? do i need to cancel the install today or can it be swapped over?

thanks..

If you were slammed, you should not agree to a 12 month contract. You should be put back on exactly the same terms as before being slammed. Unless, obviously, you want the 12 month contract.

no ones interested and everyones passing the buck so just want to get her back on the phone tbh..

sky talk are probally the ones who should sort it as they took her connection fee and had her into the contract but they aint interested so.

    Small Claims Court?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Afraid so. Obviously, there is no effective path within BT. And the Regulator has its eye on higher things such as cut throat competition, so they won't care 2 hoots.

None of the BT Representatives is under any obligation to read, check or respond to any post on this forum. They cannot be sent a pm but are reachable at the email address btcare@bt.com.

You do not need to cancel the install. Moving to the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan with a 12 month contract is easily done by phoning CS on 150. Make it clear what you want (free evening calls) and listen carefully to the conditions which should be read to you.

    Hi m00nie,

If you can drop me an email to xxxxxx@bt.com with your Mom's BT account details along with your forum username. I will take a look at this to make sure the reconnection goes through okay.

    Thanks

That post breaches the revised Forum Rules which apply to BT company representatives' membership.

So you're aware, as part of a wider-ranging Forum Rules update, company representatives can no longer receive or send private messages.

Instead, we've asked them to ensure, where possible, that they're posting answers directly on the forum so that everyone can get the benefit rather than just one specific person.

Where people really do need to give them personal details in order to help sort out an issue company representatives can now include a specific help email address in their profile page and can direct people to their profile page from the forum (but not post the address in posts/threads).

    Andrea :)
