ecar insurance

I have cancelled a policy with ecar. They state the premium will be returned in 14 days when it doesn't arrive they say it's 30 days and it doesn't arrive and they dont respond to emails or registered post. Should I complain to the FOS or start small claims procedings?

    Before spending money on a small claim court claim, check if they have a registered office here (ecar is based in Gibraltar) where you can enforce any judgement you win, otherwise it will be a waste of money.

    I believe that Ecar operate out of offices near Bristol, near the old severn Bridge. The Insurers they use, are registered in Gibraltar.

    I keep reading of these problems with Ecar. Someone the other day on this forum, was waiting on the phone for 2 hours until they answered the call.

    You should make a complaint to the OFT via consumer direct.

    Have you emailed complaints@ecarinsurance.co.uk ?
    The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
