Royal Mail

Was shocked this morning
Post arrived.
One letter had my name and my postcode.
My postcode covers around 30 properties, meaning someone took the time to match up my name to our house number.

I have never had any problems with royal mail. The only postal problem I can remember is DD's grant application, posted in PO but the did not put enough stamps on so it spent 7 weeks in Belfast before getting back to us.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Dont know why everybody is so quick to bash Royal Mail, if everybody was really honest, how many genuine problems have they ever had? I dont really think I have ever had one. They handle millions of items of mail every day and work hard to deliver it all. Your local postie would be able to deliver to badly addressed mail as he will have the local knowledge. I think the posties deserve a big round of applause, especially at this time of year :TMummy to 4 beautiful but expensive children0

I was initally annoyed when I received a letter a few days ago from Royal Mail as it was covered in scribbles and codes so I thought someone had been using it as note paper until I realised the address. It had the wrong door number which is higher than what my street has, and the postcode was wrong. I can only think they must have checked the records to find my postcode and then checked all my street to see where there was someone with my surname. I was really happy and was going to send a happy email about it but the site was down.Male.

I am glad this thread came up.
Our Royal Mail posties are brilliant in Cambridge, they are efficient but they are also genuinely nice people who always have a chat and laugh. We have been here six years and I can't fault them once. That's both the regular postie and the Royal mail van drivers.0 -
Does anyone think the snow will have messed with deliveries? I had something coming special delivery today which hasnt arrived. Typically I needed the item for today aswell, it'll be no use tomorrow. Grrr. Oh well.
I just realised thats a pretty stupid question, of course it'll cause problems with the roads being a mess! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Royal Mail is great, the postman will know the names as it is their route
My gf talks to hers alot, and people sending her postcodes even write comments for the postman. It is a quality service 99% of the time.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
I'll give rm some praise aswell - I changed the address for a magazine I subscribe to and someone's obviously put the address in wrong so it says 56 instead of 36. Postie noticed this and always delivers it to me because he saw my name
Also the postie that delivers packages in my area is great, he just slips the package inside the door if we don't get to the door so that we don't have to go and pick it up from the depot.0 -
