I am on the phone to cancle the tv drive because sky have called and said i can get sky hd installed sooner. i have not had the tv drive for more than 30 days, i have had it for about 10 days - i am on the phone now to telewest and they say that i am in a 12 month contract. i was told about 30 days money back guratnee - they claim this to be for new customers only.....

I wasnt told this on the phone, when i ordered telewest tv drive, AND the cherry on the cake, is that the account is NOT in my name. I ordered the tv drive - and they accepted my word - i did pass the security, but the account is in somebody elses name.

What can i do??

Mind that i ordered, in mymothers account, she does not want it, i wanted it because sky were slow, and they said on the phoen i had a 30 day money back guraantee when i first ordered, and i got a letter a day ago saying this. (my mum is blind...)

And i never signed any new contract agreeing to the 12 months....

Becuase i wasnt offered a new contract, the 30 days of which would have been availible on this. but i wasnt offered this, and i was advised to add it to my mums current services.

really need advice on how to get out of this as i really do not know what to do now.....

well i did confirm with my mum, and i did talk to her about it BUT they never got conformation. SO i did technocally get permission BUT they never confirmed this.... (thats what i meant )

Let's hope they don't consider that you have committed a fraud...

  • Probably in their eyes, you have. As regards 30 days, there is normally a cooling off period, but as you said, only for new customers. Your Mum is an existing customer, and has agreed to have this (as far as they see it).

Possibly the best option is to get her to 'phone up and explain that you went behind her back and that she's very annoyed with you. Fingers crossed they'll be understanding and cancel it.

Yes, she knew about it, but I think this is a 'throw herself on their mercy' situation.

    Personally I prefer tv-drive to sky+ ! :)
Doing my best as a contrarian investor...property, banking...let's see how it goes ;)
