help dialers + trojans

i had a message telling me to update spysweeper that i thought was working ok.when i ran it after update it showed up a lot of things including-
adware dialer access
trogan horse-trogan-downloader -delf
although it says i'm on a 30 day trial it won't let me fix this unless i subscribe.i looked for something else and ran adaware and it found amongst other things
coulomb dialer and uk video dialer which i was able to quarentine. are these the same thing?
my sons have been downloading alot of music would this cause the problems?i also have a2 and spyblaster should these have seen any of this ?a2 says no malware when i run it and i thought spyblaster should stop this kind of thing . thanks for any help you can give me. i'm still new to this.

Try spybot search and destroy as well. It's free

As for your reported scumware, just google them to find out about them.
  • Nope, those dialers etc that you have are not one and the same - they will all need removing.

Spyware blaster will help to protect against the installation of some spyware, but it is not 100% effective - no program can be, as there are always new techniques and methods coming out. And when did you last update SpywareBlaster?

If your sons have been downloading music from illegal sites - Kazaa is the one that always springs to mind - then yes, it is likely that the PC has become infected via that route. One of the best defences against viruses and malware is to be wary of visiting certain types of site - nowadays any file download site should be treated with caution.

    lincs lad ,
i update regularily.my boys use winmx to download music.
  • I merely used Kazaa as an example - WinMX is still a peer-to-peer network, and as such you are exposing your PC to a moderate to high risk of becoming infected.
