Baby's Handprint Kits - Help???

I have bought two types of baby's handprint kits. One is an imprint kit where you have an amount of air dry clay which you push the hand into to make the impression. The other is a plaster of paris and rubber mould kit that makes a 3D 'sticky out' cast of baby's hand/foot.
I don't think I will have too much trouble with the first kit. But with the plaster of paris one it says to keep the hand in place for 3 - 5 mins. My baby is 6 months and I am not sure she will keep her hand 'still' for that length of time.
Has anyone ever done one of these or have any suggestions about doing it?

I had one of these for my DD2. I got my eldest daughter to hold her hand. It's so lovely them both being in it. DD2 is almost 7 now and I will treasure this forever.
Is this your first child? Perhaps you could do it father and son, or mother and daughter.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

I did it when my son was asleep - I held him while my parents helped to press his hand in!Sealed Pot no 20110

For lovely Christmas decs you could do the imprint ones in Salt Dough and put "Baby's first Christmas" and some gold spray and glitter
