Hotmail/Outlook Express Incompatibility Issues

Hi

A few months back Hotmail decided to stop supporting mail synchronisation through Outlook Express - a system that I pootled along with very happily prior to that - and I wondered if there was any other email client that I could use, preferably for free, that would allow me to collect mail from several sources all into one place and reply from the individual addresses? At present I can collect Hotmail still but have to then either log into my Webmail version of Hotmail to reply or reply from my gmail account through Outlook Express because Hotmail is no longer supported for sending.

I'm reluctant to give up my Hotmail account because it's been my main email address for years and all my financial matters and shopping sites have been registered to it.

I'm sure other Moneysavers will have sussed out a work around to this and I'd be very grateful for any advice given.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks, I'll take a look at that but isn't that online only? I was hoping for something that downloads emails to my computer if possible so that all is not lost if you can't get online - always at the most inconvenient time I've found in the past!

Windows Live Mail is an email client that you install to your computer. My wife uses it to access AOL and Gmail (though she prefers Apple Mail on the Mac).

You could also give Thunderbird or Zimbra Desktop a try.
