Hi ...
I'm about to replace my tired old BT sockets (Not the Master) and am confused by the colour coding used. I've googled and cross-checked, but can't see any reference to my own selection of wires. I've got the following
brown, green, orange, blue & four whites - all solid colours.
I understand that the wiring is about 30 years old, but can't find a match.
If you can help ... thanks!!

A non-standard cable has been used, so just make sure that you use on the extensions whatever has been used at the master. Only connections 2 and 5 are required on a modern system (no bell wire is needed on 3).No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks ... I think that just about everything is non-standard about my house. I'd have someone rip the wires out, but they're all built-into the house.
I've got to wire an NTE200 faceplate thing into this when BT fit my NTE5 - I'm not sure how this is going to work.
The NTE2000 takes three wires on terminals 2, 3 & 5. Do these relate to the same numbers on the BT faceplates? I could ask BT, but know that they'd inflate the bill enormously for what is a minor job.
Best Wishes
