I have a Vivitar 4345 camera which was purchased about a month ago, it has been a fabulous camera but this past week or so some of the pictures are coming out blurry, I've checked the focus and it is fine so does anyone know what may be causing these blurred pictures?

When you say "some of the pictures are coming out blurry" are they all the same type of picture? i.e. is it just close up pictures and distant shots are OK? What does the user guide say that the minimum focus distance is?
Not sure exactly what you mean by "checked the focus and it's fine" as I believe that it is an auto focus camera.
Have you tried putting the camera on a table or window sill and using the cameras own self timer to take a picture?

Does the lens need cleaning?

You haven't accidentally switched it to macro focus mode have you? (There might be a small 'tulip' icon showing on the display if it's like some other digicams). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

They’re not the same type of picture, still, action, distance and close up all come out blurry! I’ll dig out the manual to see what the minimum focus distance is although with it occurring on all types of picture then that may not be it!espresso wrote:Not sure exactly what you mean by "checked the focus and it's fine" as I believe that it is an auto focus camera.
It is an auto focus but I checked it as like fifer said I may have put it on a different setting, but it is on auto and fine!espresso wrote:Have you tried putting the camera on a table or window sill and using the cameras own self timer to take a picture?
Yes, as I thought it may be my hands shaking but still it gives me blurry images!Gorgeous_George wrote:Does the lens need cleaning?
Again I thought it may be that so I’ve given it a wipe with a soft cloth and it looks perfectly fine and sparkly but still blurry images come my way!
I’d like to thank you for your replies, I’m not the most technically minded person so your simplistic answers are appreciated! Maybe I should just give up on trying to have technical things, they always seem to go wrong with me!!:rolleyes:Kate

could be a light issue, eg shutter is set to open for longer to allow more light in, consequence is blurred picture. What if you take a pic with the camera rested (rather than holding it)? Could just be bust...Debt: a bloomin big mortgage

As I say I've tried it resting and the outcome is blurry so I think you may be right dead eye and it's bust!
me + technology = disaster

Has it been dropped? Sounds like a sensor or part of the optics have !!!!!!ed up.
How old is it? Where you get it from?0 -
Not been dropped, it's about a month old and I got it from argos, I think I'll be taking it back to argos and hopefully they'll replace it!Kate

I'm sure they will.
By all means try another Vivitar camera. My camera is an Olympus 5.1MP. Bought from 7dayshop.com for about £120. Never let me down yet.

Defo take it back to Argos (hopeful you still have reciept), if not I'd get in touch with vivitar and see what they say.0
