Do shops accept ripped vouchers?

Evening All!

Not sure if this is in the right place so feel free to move me if you have to!

To cut a long story short I bought a few love to shop vouchers off my sister. I've used all but one and unfortunately I wasn't paying any attention as I was removing if fom the wee book and tore along the wrong perforated line. The voucher is now split into 2 parts (both parts have the serial number on them and obviously they match!) and has already been refused in Homebase...Is it worth my while trying to use it elsewhere or should I just get rid of it?

Thanks,

Angelic x

Try it but they will probably reject them.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
  • shops do not have to accept any coupons - it is up to the checkout person.

talk nicely and you never know :)
  • Thanks for your replies!

GentleGiant, I'm always nice to people in customer services as I think a little decency goes a long way so maybe if I'm extra nice I'll get away with it! I also thought of maybe trying to blag it by pretending to rip it whilst I'm in a shop to see if that would get me anywhere! haha!

Im sure you will be fine. I found some vouchers in a puddle a few years ago, their owner never claimed them so after 6 months I went shopping. The state of them was hilarious! They had been dried out on the radiator etc but they were happily accepted.
