A-T I think we were separated at birth! I love making jam.
Admittedly I haven't got around to it yet this year but usually make a large batch of damson jam and some plum jam. My auntie used to look after someone's orchard (damson & plum trees) and and used to drop off carrier bags full of plums and damsons at mum's house.
I think she thinks mum is a demon jam-maker but mum used to phone me and tell me that the harvest had arrived and then into action I go. My auntie is getting on a bit now (80!) so she doesn't look after the orchard any more but I asked her if there was any chance of damsons and plums again and off she went into the orchard scrumping! (She has always snubbed her nose at authority...)
I live quite close to a pick-your-own farm so I may get some strawberries and have a go at strawberry jam this year.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Has the pick your own started then? I don't think I'm going to see many off mine until next year. But I don't mind going to the pick your own, DD loves it, one for her mouth, one for the basket! It's a good job they don't weigh the kids
The only failure I ever have with Jam is Strawberry, I can never get it too set, I always have to make strawberry and apple instead.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
