When I'm done monitoring my today tight budget to make sure I can pay for broadband, I want this service at home. But I've been told I cannot have broadband without a landline.
Is it true? Isn't there any way of having internet without a phone? It inconveniences me very much since I don't have a landline and that would mean paying double just to use the net. I wouldn't use the phone anyway - I have more than enough with my mobile and don't fancy loads of calls from telesellers bothering me whenever I happen to be home.

Where do you think the signal is going to come from, it's got to be via the airwaves (mobile phone), or satellite (which needs a phone point for uploads), or cable, or via BT.
The last 2 are the cheapest of those options.
Oh I forgot, it can come down the powerlines as well..
This will stop most of the telephone sales people bothering you from this country.

but doesn't stop Spanish, American and Indian calls centres bothering you.
You could always club together with the neighbours, and piggy back off their wireless router.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
