A cheap and simple recipe you could do with your children. Buy some cheap marshmallows, roll them in melted chocolate and then roll in coconut. They are like snowball cakes that you buy. If kids don't like coconut you can roll in 100's and thousands or chocolate strands. They are yummy and have always been a hit with any children i have baked with.

this away from chocolate but the post reminded me of what a cook did in a hosp i worked in
you make queen cakes and hope the tops will have domed slice the bottoms off and sandwich with jam then ice
sandwich the tops with jam cover in water icing and roll in coconut a bit like the sponge snowballs you can buy0 -

I think Twink has had too much vino.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
how did you guess about the vino:D the cook at the hospital was trying i suppose to have a change for the long stay patients from the usual plain queen cakes
when i think about it you slice through the queen cake half way down, you sandwich two top halves with jam and ice the top
you take the bottoms and sandwich them together with jam then cover all over with water icing and roll completely in coconut
think i got it the wrong way round before, hope that is clearer now, sorry to you both
i know they were good as i put on half a stone when i worked there0 -
another good (and quick!) one is to get a couple of bags of marshmallows, a couple of bags (or bars) of toffee, melt in saucepan with a blob of butter or marg til gooey & messy, then add Rice Crispies, stir til well coated & put into tin to set, then cut into squares....might have to make these at the weekend...yum!0
