Hotpoint Fridge Freezer FFA60 - water under salad drawer

Hi,
I have had my hotpoint for about 6 years. Just recently there has been water under the salad drawer every morning. I had a search on google and have tried a few things suggested - check the drain hole by pushing a straw down it and I've also moved the fridge and got rid of the dust underneath it and at the back. When I moved the fridge the water drained away and it was ok for about two days but now it's happening again. Surely the drain hole can't be blocked if it did drain away. Does anyone have any suggestions? is there any point in getting an engineer to look at it considering the cost or would it be more cost effective to buy a new one? Thanks

Is it level? If not adjust the feet to level it up0

I had a few were the drain hole was still blocked, the best way is to unplug it, push something down until you see it come out of the bottom of the tube from the back of the fridge.0

As well as bits of veg/food blocking this vent hole, ice can mix with this material making blockage worse. I solved similar problem by turning fridge off, then emptying bottom shelf of fridge. Have rags, tissues, drainage bowl to hand. Pour hand hottish ( NOT BOILING ) water slowly into the drainage hole. You may assist drainage by poking a flexible stick or similar into drainage vent. Flow from fridge rear may trickle at first, but inccrease to a gush when all ice/food material is cleared. Finally dry all moisture inside and outside fridge, then switch fridge back on. Good luck.0

Thanks for all the replies. Do you happen to know if the drainage hole goes in a straight line? If I shove something down does it need to be rigid or can it be bendy? Thanks0

Can be either, I usually use a length of electric cable.0
