0% Card failure. How Long Before Trying Again ?

The interest on my LLoyds TSB card is crippling.
Earlier this year I tried to get several of the main 0% credit cards.
All failed.
Since then my finances have improved greatly and I haven't missed any payments on anything for many months.
But as we know - multiple applications go against you.
How long should I leave it before trying again ?
Thanks.
NB. What a brilliant website. Martin should be knighted !

What cards have you applied for?
Searches stay on your file for 12 months and applications to the same company need a gap of at least 6 months0 -
It is suggested to do no more than 3 credit applications in any 6 month period, as this can affect your rating. If its been more than 6months then might be worth trying one card but if you are declined probably not a good idea to keep trying others.
Do you know why you were refused? - its always best to ask why and they will usually give you a idea.
If you have any defaults/ ccjs on your credit report then your chance of getting one will be slim until they fall off. Have you checked your credit report recently?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Blimey - you people are quick ! Thanks both for replying.
I tried Virgin, Vanquis, and others. (Can't remember which.)
I didn't ask why I was refused.
Just guessed that it was due to late card payments.
Rarely defaulted altogether and paid double the next month anyway.
I have no CCJs etc.
If searches stay on record for 12 months - is there any point in trying again after 6 months ? Reckon I'll leave it for the full year.
Thanks again.0 -
If Vanquis declined you there could be something astray on your credit file. I would get a copy of each from Experian and Equifax (£2 each) and see if there is something there that shouldn't be. Also, make sure you are on the electoral roll.
