  • Thanks! I would have thought that being as dh pays a fair bit of tax they would be rushing to get some of it!!
  • interesting reading. i went br begining of dec so by the time they sort in out it would be around feb, i only pay 26 tax anyway
  • If you only pay 26 tax per month you wont have a NT tax code

Whilst, unlike everyone else, I heard from MB before the NT tax code was even applied. I expect it to be as of this month.

  • Hi Trom ! Me too ! I heard from the beevers 1 month before my NT code was applied.

All done now ..... Just need to sort out the standing order... best get on with that tomorrow. Although quite placid by nature, the beevers can get a bit tempermental if people lie low for a while !

Mind you, the post marked on the letter they sent was 2nd December - it only arrived yesterday

So, best I email them tomorrow !

    night all ! xxx

It does seem like it takes a long time to set up this NT IPA lark -

I went BR in July, Moon Beever contacted me in November asking for payslips, and have only now just had letters from HMRC advising me that they have asked my employer to apply the code.

Can anyone answer this question? The way I understood it, if you have an NT IPA, you don't owe HMRC any tax from the date of BR to the end of the tax year. As the tax code is only just being applied this month, what about the tax I've paid since my BR in July? Will Moon Beever approach HMRC to get that?
  • Hi there I would just like to ask a question in relation to mine and oh SOA, once we have put everything down which I understand we are allowed, we have £7.00 left between us per month, but I pay £153.00 tax per month and oh pays £283.00 per month so does anyone know what figure IPA we will have, and when we should start paying it we are going BR on Monday 21st December?

    any help appreciated

    :T
  • You shouldn't get an excess income IPA unless the OR disallows a lot of your outgoings.

You NT code IPA will be £153.00 tax per month and oh £283.00 a month. Though as stated above, this close to the end of the tax year the likely hood is you won't get one.

    Have a read of this
