btw, i've tried adsense recently but you have to get high traffic to make enough from it and getting traffic takes A LOT of time if you don't have a good niche.

There are others saying they've made a lot from it but to be hoenst i think you need a very popular website to make much money from adsense. Gaining traffic to a website takes a whole lot of time, probably more than 6 months unless you have a brilliant idea. Best off getting a job with that timescale unless you already have a good idea to make a website in a non competitive area.

  • Well done everyone!! :T

I'd love to chime in with my income but to be honest I've not kept track of it as I've not made a massive push for it - had a manically busy year with my full-time job.

I'm going to be hitting it a bit harder this year though... Has anyone who lectures ever done tutoring with the open university?

Fair enough, if you're still looking for a job then it's a good idea to try something different. hope it works out and let us know how you get on.

  • I've said in my diary I'm still thinking about it. I think the only way I could acheive £2K would be to do MS again. When I was on Mat Leave and did it, you could be employed by the company so NI and Tax were all sorted. I don't think I can be bothered with the hassle of self-assessment etc, so still deciding.
