is it 3.19p or 3.04p
Thanks

3.350p including VAT, which is 3.19 p before VAT@5%That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The 3.19 or 3.04 relates to your gas price rather than your elec price.0

Unit charge: 3.19p incl vat @ 5% (3.04p excl vat)
Daily standing charge: 14.03p incl. vat @ 5% (13.36p excl vat)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
From there price list online it should be (from the 30th March 2009) 3.04p and 3.19p (inc VAT).
But my bill was 3.19p and then they + the VAT again.
I was wondering how many other people have have the same mistake.
Southern Electric have refunded me the difference, doesn't look a lot but it was £70 approx.:j0 -
Hi Stretch,
Don't prices vary depending where you are in the country?
Interested to know where you found their online price list. I have never been able to find it on Southern-electric's website Can you post the link?
I usually use some of the switching sites like energyhelpline to check the tariffs
I'm on the better plan with online billing which is still their standard tariff less 5%.
Standard tariff in the southwest is 3.24p ex VAT and 3.402p inc VAT0 -
Check what price you should be paying just to make sure, It's worth a try

Type in your postcode and see prices0 -
I'm confused to which tariff I'm on, as it's an online account with SE (no paper bills). It states in the online bill 'Your tariff is General Saver' , it shows the Standard energy price (excluding VAT) at 3.24 p/KWh (excluding 5% DD discount and standing charge 13.36p/day). When I go on comparison sites my ’General saver’ tariff doesn’t come up so I use the standard energy online but I'm guessing from your rates stated above it's not that?Regards

Hi Stretch,
Thanks for the tip.
Now I see the folllowing prices from 4th September (just after my last Bill)
Standard/Better Plan NSC
Rate A 3.24p ex VAT
Rate B 3.09p ex VAT
This are the same for two other postcodes (north and east)
They refer to Go Direct discount (included 5%?) and prompt payment (not included 2.5%?). I am only used to the direct debit discount currently 5% reduced from 6% last year.
Anyway I am confused (nothing new) so it's worth a phone call tomorrow0
