Wall Mount

I have wallmounted an electric heater(one that blows out air) but its melting the frame of the window sill.

How can I bring the heater out about an inch?

    use an inch thick piece of wood behind the unit and refix the unit to it.
    or use spacers behind the unit and use longer fixings. as per the piccy.
    you can use almost anything for a spacer. ie tube cut to size.

    or resite the unit?
